L113 YOD left in pieces

Sad news to report on tonight is that long serving L113 YOD has had an unfortunate end to her life. With many thanks again to Tom Pearce I can bring you these exclusive photos of her in tatters in Milehouse depot. As the photos below clearly show she has been completely cannibalised. All but a few of the panels have been removed, all the interior has been completely stripped. The main mechanics are still in place though, but will also soon be stripped. L114 YOD has also been cannibalised with very little remaining. A real shame to finally see these old girls going. The L reg batch are in fact just a few months older than me. I just wish I'd appreciated them more. Much like the K-ORLs its been a case of you don't realise what you've got, until they're going. The rest should be around until Christmas where all step Darts are 'due' to be withdrawn. So still time to snap up the last few photos before they're gone! The above photos shows her in happier times back in 2007 on a 47A, taken using my old Vivitar!

Does anyone know why are Citybus taking them to bits like this, is it for spares for the rest of the fleet or can the bits be used on other newer buses within their fleet or elsewhere within the Goahead group?

Probably spares for K105 SFJ

Hmm could be a variety of things I suppose. It may simply be to sustain the M-HOD Darts for a bit longer until they can be replaced, or could possibly be for re-sale to keep other Darts going. As PCB are selling a few off it may be something that they keep in store so that the companies can come back to them for spares in the future.

I did think it was becuase no-body wanted them, I saw one being broken up several months ago in the depot. They are old, and tired & the best place for them is the scrap heap.
