OTA 290G on her way with other Bristol VRs to the Bristol VR final running day in Penzance.
Saturday March 31st 2007 will see the closure of First Devon and Cornwall's Ilfracombe depot. This depot is the only ex-tilling depot still in use and will be a momentous occasion for bus enthusiasts. Hopefully there will be ex buses and drivers there to run the last service ever which is Duty 1116 which will definitely be operated by ex-Ilfracombe bus 1056 OTA 290G.
It is understood she will do the following routes:
1500 Ilfracombe-Barnstable
1710 Barnstable-Combe Martin via Muddiford
1830 Combe Martin-Ilfracombe
2000 Ilfrcombe-Barnstable
2045 Barnstable-North Devon District Hospital
2055 North Devon District Hospital-Barnstable
2110 Barnstable-Ilfracombe
2200 Ilfracombe-Barnstable
2310 Barnsatble-Ilfracombe
At the end of the last route ex staff of the depot and current will perform the last rites.
It is hoped that there will be special tickets produced and the staff will wear old fashioned uniform and there will be two other ex vehicles there throughout the day.
